The city of TorunLocated in the North of Poland, covering the boundary between the historical areas of Kuyavia and Pomerania, the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship was separated between Kuyavia and Royal Prussia until 1999 when the Voivodeship was established, and now boasts two capital cities; Bydgoszcz, on the Kuyavian side and the home of the appointed governor, and Toruń, on the Prussian side where the elected Regional Assembly is stationed. For the astronomy enthusiast, Toruń was also the birthplace of Nicolaus Copernicus, the famous astronomer, who is believed to have been the mind that inspired the scientific revolution. The region is also famed for its talents in baking, particularly in Gingerbread, which has been made from the same recipe without change for many generations.

The Voivodeship is an important area with regards to Polish transportation, having railway lines that connect it to the major ports by the Baltic Sea, as well as the countries capital of Warsaw and other major cities, and the Ignacy Jan Pederewski Airport, located in Bydgoszcz, has flights that reach many popular European termini, many of which are operated by the Irish company Ryanair and LOT Polish Airlines.

Like many of the main Voivodeships in the country, the landscape of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship is celebrated by its inhabitants and preserved so that future generations might enjoy the same glorious views as their ancestors. This provides tourists with nine landscape parks, including the Chelmno and Gopło Landscape Parks for a relaxing break from the bustle of city life and a chance to reconnect with nature.

If relaxation is the key then there are several health resorts in the region to be enjoyed, the most prestigious being Ciechocinek, which use huge wicker contraptions known as teznie, which are used to extract salt from the water drawn from the vast saltwater lake, which can be found underneath the region, and turn it into a health giving mist that customers can walk through to give themselves a health boost.
